The community of Barrio Logan experienced a trauma with the building of the freeway. This freeway came through our community and destroyed it. When the freeway destroyed our community we were deeply affected by it. Yet even with the wiping out of our community many of us did not move away, as we were expected to. When the freeway was built through Logan Heights they thought they were going to get rid of us, but a lot of the gente stayed and we put up a stand to save our community.
