This is the neighborhood house we Chicanos took over. We took it over during the period in which we were taking over land, taking over buildings and were planning for our future and our community. This used to be the neighborhood house, now it is the Logan Heights Family Health Center, because addressing our needs and health problems is very, very important. We had begun to notice that in the Black Power movement in Oakland and other places they were organizing free clinics, so this was our first Chicano free clinic.
