These photos are part of the Eddie Davis West Coast Eastside Sound Archives (CEMA 117), Special Collections, UCSB Library. This collection was donated by Hector Gonzalez. He is a record producer, musician, award winning sound engineer and current owner of Rampart Records. Gonzalez has a first hand view of the vibrant music scene in East Los Angeles where multicultural bands contributed to the development of rock and roll. His archives help to document the development of the “West Coast East Side Sound.” Hector Gonzalez says, "This is an important part of early American rock and roll.”

Still of Rampart recording artist, Lava and the Hot Rocks in 1985. The family that plays together stays together and featured, Hector "Dad" Gonzalez on bass guitar, Miroslava "Mom" Gonzalez on Lead Vocals and their 10 year old son, Alex Gonzalez on drums. Their Rampart recording of, "Baby We're Through" premiered "Live" in 1985 with a performance on the ABC television show, "330" starring Steve Edwards. In 1998, Lava and the Hot Rocks were hired by television producer, Dan Guerrero as the house band on the Telemundo daytime variety talk show, "Al Dia Con Maria Conchita" starring actress and Grammy nominated singer, Maria Conchita Alonzo.
