California Ethnic and Multicultural Archives
Promoting Cultural Diversity

The California Ethnic and Multicultural Archives (CEMA), part of the Davidson Library at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is a collection of primary research materials that documents the cultural and political experiences of California's rich racial and ethnic diversity. {Chancellor Henry T. Yang}

In my memorandum to the Campus Community of November, 1996, I reaffirmed UCSB's commitment to excellence and diversity. I remain confident that we share a common belief in the value of diversity in an intellectual community such as ours. UCSB will continue to strive toward the maintenance of a diverse academic recruitment of academically qualified students, and through the recruitment of outstanding faculty and staff.

The CEMA program is a reflection of UCSB's commitment to diversity. We have a vision, shared by all the members of our community, of a world-class research and teaching university, built by that commitment to diversity and excellence.
