Los Gallos

Salvador Roberto Torres Papers, CEMA 38, Department of Special Collections, University Library, University of California, Santa Barbara.

As members moved away, formed families, or obtained full time jobs in the late 1950s the group disbanded. Most stayed in the community, however, including artist and organizer Salvador Torres and human rights activist Roberto Martinez. In the 1990s, members of Los Gallos regrouped and began by planning a live-music dance with members of 1950s R and B bands. One of their aims was to help pay for the restoration of historical photos from the Los Gallos period.
