Many jacket clubs in the area included a reference to “Logan Heights” below their club symbol. With the advise of Al Johnson Los Gallos chose to claim “San Diego” on their jacket in hopes of extending themselves to a larger community. Their jackets became a “shield” for the members, while also making them a target of the San Diego police.
